Announcements for the week of November 19th

THE DHS CANNED FOOD DRIVE

Hey Fabulous Davis High School Students and Faculty,

The Key Club and Mountain High School would like to give our most sincere thanks to all of you who participated in the canned food drive!

It was a huge success!  Tons of food was picked up by Mountain High School on Friday.  Many hearts were touched by the generosity shown!

As far as we are concerned, you are all winners, but there are prizes to be given out…  DRUM ROLL PLEASE, and the winners of the canned food drive competition are:

 

1st place – bringing in 46.21 cans per student, Mr. Frey

2nd place – with 26.4 cans per student – Ms. Meade

3rd place – with 17.85, Ms. Ward

4th place  – with 15.61, Ms. Hoyt 

 

An honorable mention to the following classes, which all exceeded our school goal of 8 cans per student!

Mr. Schirner 10.59

Also, a shout out for our fabulous Football and Basketball coaches who took time out to go shopping with team monies and purchased 1,672 food items!!!

And CONGRATULATIONS! WE ARE ALL CELEBRATING MEETING OUR SCHOOL GOAL, WITH AN EXTRA LONG LUNCH ON TUESDAY!   THANKS AGAIN!

Book Drive

The ASL Club is collecting books for a local Deaf school. Bring new or lightly used books to room 1413 Book drive for local Deaf school today through December 1st. Bring to room 1413

Sterling Scholar

Sterling Scholar applicants: The chosen scholars will be posted outside Ms Andersons Classroom, Room 2204 Monday after school. Please see the list to learn the results.

Academic Olympiad Winners

The Academic Olympiad team did a great job representing Davis High at the competition Last Week! They placed 2nd in math, 2nd in science, 3rd in language arts, and 3rd overall. The members of the team are: Abby Black, Bronson White, Charles Johnson, Chris Beck, Coleman Cook, David Randall, Ellison Scheuller, Jonah Carlson, McKenna Tracey, and Scott Swain.

Honors/AP Studio Art Exhibit

The Honors/AP Art Studio class presents “Melodic Masterpieces”, an exhibition of student artwork inspired by music. You will find the show on the north wall of the Commons across from the office starting November 26. Come see what these amazing students have created.

One Act Play Auditions

If you are interested in performing in the One Act Play Festival this coming January, then be sure to Prepare a 1 minute monologue and pick up an audition packet in the little theater. Auditions will be held next week, the 26th, 27th, and 28th. For more information see Mr Wright in the little theater or any member of Advanced Theater.
